That vocal sample at :17 is just fantastic. And the bassline at the end/fade out is so good, too.

Only thing that bugs me is the snare; it sounds a bit loud/sharp compared to the rest of the beat. At least, with my poor quality headphones, so take it lightly.

Other that, I can't offer much criticism; it's a great beat.

I love this. But that beat at the end seems unnecessary, at least for a Newgrounds upload. It'd work fine if it was used as a transition to a next track on an album though.

Other than that, I love it.

I'm surprised no one has bothered to review/rate this.

I don't speak the language, so I don't understand the lyrics. However, I will say that the hook sounded nice.

Also, I'm not sure if you guys rapping was just a one-time thing, for a project (and you weren't gonna do it again). If it's a one-time thing, I don't think you guys care for tips on how to improve, but the delivery for just about everybody rapping could be improved. However, that guy at 1:54-2:14 had -very- good flow. One of the reasons I repeat this song is to hear his verse (does he also perform the hook? Sounds like his voice). With a bit more practice, I could imagine him being a pretty good rapper.

Overall, a solid effort. Not sure you guys even visit Newgrounds anymore, so you might not even read this, but I'd be interested in hearing more.

Pretty good job here, May. It's a nice voice you got.

The song itself has that 'feel-good' feeling to it, if that makes sense. It's a nice song to listen to, and I appreciate anybody who tries to make uplifting, positive music.

But I felt that the equalization of the voice was a bit too much for me (but then again, I have poor headphones, so take my comment lightly). The voice itself sounds fine, but the effect added to it didn't make the voice sound as natural as it could've been. (but then again [...again], pop isn't a genre I'm knowledgeable in, so maybe that's how it's supposed to be).

Overall though, it's a solid song. Good job, May (and to the producers, Matt and Mike, too), I hope you have a satisfying future in music.

P.S.: May, Mike, and Matt all start with 'M'... That's pretty neat.

Maysoon responds:

Wow, thanks so much!! :-)

Using that vocal sample as an intro does so much for this beat. It only last for about 12 seconds, but it gets me so pumped up, man.

Speaking of the intro, I'm kinda disappointed the instrumental went in a different direction that I thought it was. I dunno what that was in the beginning (guitar?), but it was going pretty fast, so I expected a fast beat. And once the real beat kicks in, everything slows down. Of course, it's still a great beat, it sounds amazing, but that intro threw me off completely, and I kinda wish the rest of the beat built onto that guitar thing.

That aside, everytime I play this, I imagine it being used as the menu song for a Western-style game (and it looks pretty cool in my head, if I do say so myself). Some of your other beats sound like they can be used in games, too (Clockwork sounds like music for some Mines level). It'd be interesting in hear them used on some of the flash games uploaded on Newgrounds, I think.

I'm rambling. Long story short, I llike this.

DJDureagon responds:

The guitar you hear at the beginning actually is in the song just slowed down a lot. I thought the guitar fit the vocals pretty well in the intro and provided a beefier backdrop for the main beat. It is a completely different tempo and mood than the beat itself but I actually like to throw people off from time to time. If anything, i should have used some vocal samples for the outro to tie it all together.

This song is pretty sexy.

You know, I liked this. Short and sweet. Did/do you actually play the piano yourself or did you just input the notes through a DAW? Whatever it was you did, it works; I like the piece.

I'm interested in hearing you make a big classical song, with instruments playing alongside the piano, (if you ever get around to it). You seem to know how to work a piano, so it'd be cool to hear you work with strings, wind instruments, and etc. (At least, I think so).

Oh, and I'll take the cookie in 'Chocolate Chip', please (and thank you).

KittenBeat responds:

Wow, thank you for the review! I do plan on making classical music in the future, but right now I'm a bit focused on rock.
I actually played the piano, but I played it in a MIDI keyboard and 'quick quantized' it after recording.

Never wrote a review for this, but yeah, I got this downloaded. Others already brought up your voice and delivery, so I don't gotta bring that up (but I will anyways; just the way you say your words makes the song sound great). Lyrics are great, and everything else seems to be on point.

This sounds like an intro song to an album or something, too, what with the ocean waves heard in the beginning of the beat. Good beat choice.

I got this in my playlist.

I don't explore the Voice Acting section so much, but I'm glad I did this time. That's an amazing voice you got, Undead.

I'm a sucker for those 'cool, tough-guy' VAs.

Gianni responds:

Cool, tough guys huh? If that's what you want, then I guess you gotta keep browsing.

But really, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Ah, and this review is ages old.

Pretty chill, and I'm liking the synths and the two-note rhodes/chimes(?) that pops up every now and then.

Personally, I found that that reverse-sounding instrument, whatever it is, can be a bit bothersome. It's not necessarily bad, but I think this would've been better off if it was either softer or if it didn't play throughout the entire beat (but rather only in a few parts). But again, that's just a personal thing, I'm sure others think it sounds fine.

I have this downloaded. Good work.

I make music.
