Teq:
I liked that you tried to change your flow a bit throughout your two verses. It makes 'em engaging, makes 'em fresh. However, I feel as if your first verse was pretty irrelevant to Spawn. I could be wrong, but I think the "Comic Book nerd" thing is the only thing related to him. I suppose it's to be expected when someone goes first, but I feel you could've made it much more personal, for sure. Your second verse was an improvement in that regard (you mentioned his power outage, how it was convenient. That he threw the N-word, talked about guns. And brought up his breathing issue). That's the kind of stuff I expect to hear in battles. Stay away from the generic 'you suck/I'll beat you down' and 'you like d---' lines, and keep it personal. That's my thought on that.

Spawn:
Probably because he had something to work with, Spawn was able to keep his first verse relevant. Saying Teq talks about d---, Milkdud would be an improvement, Spawn'd be more real than you if he went LARPing. I do wanna add, though, that you made it seem like Teq ignored Flex's lines in their battle awhile back. It was 32-32, blind, though, so Teq wouldn't be able to reply to it even if he wanted to. Not a big deal at all, but just thought I'd bring it up. Also didn't get the Big Pun bite (although I'm not the biggest Pun fan, so there's that). Still, good lines in both verses. Also, I think your flow in the first verse was fine. Not sure what people are finding wrong with it.

Yadda, yadda, yadda. My vote goes to Spawn.

I've always like your delivery. Might just be me, but it reminds me of ODB from the Wu-Tang.

Good track, Mick.

MaoDaMighty responds:

Thanks Wolfie. ODB is awesome, Im glad to hear that:P

Very good track, man. Going on my iPod, for sure.

BummerCityTown responds:

Thank you Vlash! That's awesome

I'm late and all, but I just wanted to say that this song is really amazing. Nice work, Spaze, for the production, and nice work, John, for the vocals.

I was expecting some happy, upbeat beat based on the title lol.

Anyways, I'm with John; It was a bit difficult to make out what you were saying in this song. Maybe another take would be good, to work on the clarity?

The delivery on the "entertainment news" line was nice though, I liked that.

This could be pretty cool when finished, so I'll be sure to catch it when it's done.

MaoDaMighty responds:

thanks Wolfiespawn :D

This was an awesome beat. Good work. At first, I thought the drumbeat could've been a bit heavier, but after a couple of seconds, it really seemed to fit with the track.

Only thing I didn't like was that saxophone part. It felt slightly off key or something, to me.

Still, good beat. I'm sure you'll find someone to rap over it.

Tianwell responds:

yeah, that sax was just a random sample I found. Wasn't really sure if iwould work well or not so I just kinda threw it in there.

thanks for your input!

This was a pretty good song. Good work, guys.

However, I'll offer a tiny bit of criticism (cuz I'm sure you guys would like to hear some). The part at 1:00 with the layered vocals didn't sit too well with me, it seemed too crowded. Maybe lowering the backing vocals/ad-libs would've been good. And FB's second verse started off a bit iffy, like if he was rushing it (but he ended up finding his place pretty quickly, so it's all good).

That aside though, it was a nice song. Again, good job, you two!

Teqneek responds:

Thanks for the input homie!

Like the other two reviews said, the main thing you should worry about is the delivery. I like your flow, I like the lyrics. Just give a little bit more feeling when you record your verse and you should be fine. I can imagine you being pretty good with a little more practice. I'll keep an eye out on you.

Good beat choice, too.

Psilolysergicamine responds:

Thank you very much! I appreciate it and will most def work on my delivery!

I try not to review battles because I don't think I'm knowledgeable enough to know what I'm even talking about. But, if my opinion counts for anything, here it is. I'll keep it short.

DC, your delivery did need a little work. The flow was there, and you still had some nice lines, made me smile/laugh a bit. Just work on that delivery, give it some UMPH, and you'd be good, I think. You definitely had lines that relate to your opponent, so that was good.

WS sounded good in this battle. Maybe because it was his own beat his had to rap over, I dunno, but he sounded good. Good flow, good lines.

My vote goes to WS.

The "Yoga Flame" sample was good, DC, I liked it... and the "You Lose" sample was good, too. All in all, I was entertained.

Not quite sure why it has such a low score, but this is a solid instrumental. Sample is nice, and the drum beat works. I guess I can see the whole 'repeat' thing being a problem, like King mentioned in his review, but I feel like the beat changes up throughout the song. It certainly doesn't feel like a simple loop to me.

Good work.
